Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords to Comment on Gun Viloence before Obama’s State of the Union Address

 Let's stop the violence period! Just blaming guns is not the answer! Obama's proposals to curb gun violence include reinstating the U.S. ban on some semi-automatic rifles, limiting the capacity of ammunition magazines, and more extensive background checks of prospective gun buyers, largely to verify whether they have a history of crime or mental illness. That all sounds nice from a political perspective but impractical from an enforcement standpoint! The Justice Department and the ATF currently do not have the resources to enforce the current laws! Only about 15%! They consider most of these violations "paper crime" and rather put their resources into catching violent criminals assaulting our citizens! Michael Bouchard, a former ATF assistant director for field operations says, “It’s simply a matter of using your resources wisely to effectively combat violent crime," he said in an interview. "To combat violent crime, they're going to go after criminals who are already in possession of guns or are using guns, rather than people who didn't get a gun." The FBI said it conducted 16.5 million background checks for gun purchases in 2011. Of those, 78,211 ended in denials of eligibility because of a past conviction, a warrant for an arrest, drug abuse or other reason. Forty-four attempted buyers faced prosecution in 2010! Even by this statement should make everyone aware that there are BACKGOUND CHECKSalready in place! I would also like to address blaming all the ills of violence on the so called gun lobby aka:  the NRA! The demonization of the NRA has been under way now for some time! They have demonized legal gun owners and especially the members of the NRA! With the help of the main stream media they always depict a NRA member as a big white bubba type guy in overalls wearing a hunting hat maybe chewing tobacco holding guns standing amongst dead children with a toothless smile on his face! This would be like depicting a member of the NAACP as a black man with pikanini hair big flat nose and big oversized lips really black skin (can’t pass the grocery bag test!) wearing overalls with one strap undone, slingshot in back pocket bare footed standing in a cotton field ogling the white women on the corner! Two others in the background dealing crack! Just how long do you think they would get away with that! But it’s ok to depict an NRA member as a big stupid white bubba! These Progressive are big on jumping on people who supposedly engaged in some kind of hate speech toward minorities are gays! But no one in the media or any other so called watch groups speak up when these Progressives  advocate beheadings, beatings, lynching’s, killing all the members of NRA families, putting peoples head on a stake!  So, it’s come to this: Advocating beheadings, beatings and the mass murder of peaceful Americans! But because the advocates of violence fashion themselves champions of non-violence and because they inhabit the hallowed worlds of Hollywood, academia and the Democratic Party, it’s acceptable? Blood-lusting hate speech must not get a pass just because it comes out of the mouths of the protected anti-gun class. Let’s remember our world history! The countries that in the past fell under the spell of great orators who started to blame all the ills of their society on specific class of people! Back in the day it was the Jews, Gypsies, Poles and Muslims! The ministry of propaganda just kept hitting it home if they could just get rid of the demons everything would be alright! Well we know how that turned out! In closing my wife and I were at a party the other evening and one of the people there started to parrot the hate speech that Americans are now being indoctrinated with today! He said that all NRA members and their families should be taken from their homes and shot! Its funny (not really!) that it’s ok to use a gun to enforce their beliefs that the NRA members shouldn’t have them! I asked this gentleman (using this term very loosely!) if he really believed that and would he be willing to pull the trigger? Believe it or not he said boastfully YES! (These are the type of people who wind up as guards at concentration camps!) Well, I said that my wife and I are NRA members and I had a gun in the car! Should we go outside so you can shoot my wife who is a 62 year old grey haired mother of 3 and grandmother of 6! Then you can hunt down our children and grandchildren and take them from their homes and shoot them also! It would be pretty bloody and could he handle screams from the babies! Well I guess I ruined the party because he now became belligerent because my wife and I were NRA members! I guess he thought we should be wearing a yellow star or something so we could be easily recognized when the shooting started! Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it! But true. Of course he didn’t want to shoot us, just the Bubba’s he sees in political cartoons!
